Hi!

Slash Bikini will be making a rare appearance in York this Friday night (23rd July). We'll be playing at
the Stereo Bar on Gillygate. (for those who don't know it, it's where Certificate 18 used to be.)

We're headlining, so will be on stage sometime after 9.30, and it will be £5 on the door.

This will be our only gig in York this Summer, so catch us whilst we can.

Our album 'Uberliebe' is now available from Circuit Records, or from the XAUDIA web shop, for just £5.99 including postage to anywhere on the planet (Except Antarctica - sorry all you bikini-loving penguins!)

Also, it was great to see everyone down at the FloodAid benefit gig last night - a big thanks to Steve and Frank and everyone else involved. The auctions were fun, and Slash Bikini were bidding hard on pretty much everything that came up. Gwyn won a publicity campaign, Adam got tickets to a 'fake' festival, and Stew won a couple of days studio time (!).

Here's Gwyn and Ralph out on the streets of Cologne on Thursday, next to the hilariously named shop 'D3". We have a song called D3 - it's on our first album - and by coincidence we had just played it towards the end of our set.

Not entirely sure what D3 sells, but it's nice to have a shop named for one of our songs.

Guten Tag,

We're fresh back from our very exciting tour of Germany. We had a bit of an adventure getting there, (but more of that later), learned some German words and drank and inordinate quantity of Kolsch.

A big Danke Schoen to Drowning by Numbers, who had kindly invited us to play at their album launch gig in Cologne (Koln). We played an amazing set to a great audience, and then the Numbers stormed through their new album which sounded awesome too. The boys then took us out into Cologne, fed us strange green coctails until 6 in the morning, and even cooked us breakfast. Pretty much perfect really.

We took plenty of photos - we'll be sure to get some of them up here very soon.

Fender Doncaster

It's good to be back!

Thanks to everyone who came down to the gig at The Vintage Rock bar in Doncaster last night, and a special 'hey up' to soundman Rob and promoter Millie for putting on a great show. We had a great time on stage, and the enthusiastic crowd was just the cherry on the M&S chocolate cheesecake.

Something for the geeks - for some time now Gwyn (aka Clint) has been playing a white guitar which says Fender Doncaster guitar on the headstock, which was custom faked by John White a few years ago. However, we now hear rumours that there really was a guitar by Fender called the Doncaster. Can anyone confirm this rumour?

The Upturn!

After several months hiding behind the sofa from the scary BBC downturn logo, we have decided to come out fighting and brave the world again.

We'll be performing a couple of warm-up gigs, firstly in Doncaster at the Vintage Rock Bar, on Friday the 13th of March (good luck with that!). Then off to Cologne in Germany on the 26th of March, as support for Freddy's album launch.

RIP Oliver Postgate

Oliver Postgate, creator of The Clangers, Bagpuss and Ivor the Engine has died at the age of 83. Postgate's animation was a big influence on our video for Sleepsafe, so we'd like to dedicate it to him. Sleep safe, Oliver.

Finally!

I recall us playing a session on Radio York in the middle of 2007 and talking about the imminent completion of our second album, and joking that it we might call it 'difficult' as a joke. Our initial release date was January 2008, then April....

Well it's done! Finally! We completed the mixing yesterday and it will be going off for mastering & pressing as soon as possible.

We haven't a release date yet - maybe before Christmas, but quite possibly new year depending on how busy the pressing people are.

It's worth the wait.
